02

Healthcare

Our mission is to intensify the concept of preventive healthcare in order to prevent diseases. In the near future, we aim for a partnership with Doctors Without Borders (MSF) to treat patient cases in rural, disadvantaged areas. Serious illnesses that are detected will be referred to hospitals. Another important area is the educational campaign on substance abuse among youth, which leads to unproductive lifestyles.

01

Prison sports

This project aims to create a safer and more inclusive society by finding practical solutions to reduce crime. It therefore seeks to rehabilitate offenders and help them reintegrate into the communities to which they belong. Through sports in prisons, we show that they are loved, even though they have ended up on the wrong side of the law. In the end, they change their bad behavior and become responsible, law-abiding citizens in their communities.

03

Cultural troop

ACRO Ghana offers a holistic approach to a better society through sports. Dance activities, as opposed to football, have declined because of the belief that discos and dance floors are visited by people who behave 'badly.' Many of the communities are not connected to the power grid, and electricity is expensive for our rural residents. With our locally made instruments, no electricity is needed, and they work at all events. In this way, we promote our local music through traditional dance music, older people pass their knowledge on to the younger ones, and job opportunities arise through the production of the instruments. Traditional music is preserved.

04

Mmofra Kyèfa Playgrounds

This project focuses on advising and supporting the provision of recreational facilities for children and young people in the communities so that they can be active and have fun. Apart from a few schools that have recreational facilities and where children meet to play during school hours, we promote learning through play, as children and young people move and experiment.

05

Community sport

This project aims to create a safer and more inclusive society by finding practical solutions to reduce crime. It creates opportunities to raise questions about the community, promote sports and exercise, and run campaigns on the importance of higher education for children, especially for girls, to prevent teenage pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases. It also provides young people in disadvantaged areas the opportunity to participate in leisure activities. The community programs, especially sports, agriculture, and tree planting, are areas in which we can invest for the reintegration of former offenders.

06

Menstrual health management

Studies have shown that girls who drop out of school are more likely to marry early and have children early (and these children in turn are less likely to receive an education, thus continuing a cycle of poverty and illiteracy). Girls in Ghana have difficulty managing their monthly periods and are often constrained by a variety of practical, social, economic, and cultural factors. We will fight to break down most of the taboos surrounding menstruation, as it is a natural process. Be a part of us, and it is our shared responsibility to accompany them hygienically.
